Federal Agency Public Access to Scientific Research

On February 22, 2013, the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy’s (OSTP) released the memorandum, “Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research."

This memorandum requires that federal agencies which spend more than $100 million per year on research and development to create plans to make public the articles and research data funded by those agencies. This means that if you are funded by NSF, Dept of Energy, or other large federal agencies, there is a plan coming to make sure your articles and research data are available and openly accessible.
