Create customized lists of potential target companies with the online resources listed below. For comprehensive list that includes many small businesses, Reference USA might be a best bet. If you want to focus on private companies that have more than $1 million in revenue, and has good estimates of financials, then PrivCo is a best bet. For lists of public companies, Mergent Online would be a best bet. Mergent Intellect is international and also includes proprietary DUNS numbers. These numbers do not change, even if the company name changes. And, they're required on federal grant applications.
