Physical Properties

Chemicals can be classified by their structure (e.g., hydrocarbons), uses (e.g., pesticides), physical properties (e.g., volatile organic compounds), or other factors.

When two or more different substances are combined, a new substance with different properties may be formed. Physical properties are characteristics of substances that are measurable.
