On this page, you will learn how to:
- Make a purchase request for course materials
Reading Lists validates whether or not the Georgia Tech Library owns course materials you request. If you do not find your materials in the catalog, you can place a purchase request via the blank form or the Cite It tool.
Using the Blank Form
If you know the Library does not own the course materials you need, open up your Reading List.
- Click "Add item"
- Click on Blank Form
- Add information about the course materials you want the Library to purchase on behalf of your class.
- A notice will pop up if the item is not yet in the Library collection.
- Choose appropriate response from list.
- Click "Confirm"
The Library will make every effort to accommodate purchase requests. However, a number of factors may prevent the Library from purchasing requested materials, such as availability or price.
Using Cite It
If you are browsing online, you may want to add materials to your Reading List. Follow the steps listed in the Using the Cite It tool section. After that:
- A notice will pop up indicating the item is not yet in the Library collection.
- Click confirm.
