I-85 collapse, March 2017

During rush hour on 3/30/17, a huge fire below I-85 - northbound - just north of Piedmont Road overpass - resulted in part of the Interstate collapsing. The next morning, inspectors determined that the southbound lanes near this will also have to replaced.  Officials are encouraging everyone to use MARTA - bus or rail - if possible. It is likely that the "obvious" surface streets such as Peachtree St. ; Roswell Road, etc. - will be gridlocked. For several months.
